I wonder about that because every nuke has a signature of where it was made and we would be able to trace it back to its origin.
But if it happened anyway we would probably be so pissed off and turn the Middle East into glass first and ask questions later.

haha, no need for a nuclear annihilation. we are already poised to do so and have done so partially, even when there is no nukes yet

From what I hear every nuclear centrifuge creates a unique signature in its radiation and is easily traceable as to how it was made leading to where it came from.
What I am trying to say is Russia and the United States are the only countries able to produce High Quality plutonium ( say P-34 ). If this device was made of plutonium of a lesser quality we would know by the type of radiation in the cloud and what country is capable of producing it.

"It's awful to give up our bulling ways" to be honest we don't have to give up our bulling ways we just have to do it better and have a majority of the free world behind us.
The problem now is this administration has lost all credibility with it's lies leading up to and during this Iraq war. The world thinks that we duped them into this war, which we did.
We had the perfect opportunity to change the world for the better after 9/11 and were off to a good start in Afghanistan. Then this administration lost focus and made Iraq out to be a bigger threat than it was.
I feel if we waited and finished the job in Afghanistan first, and we started a real rebuilding process like the Marshal Plan after WW2 for Afghanistan. This would have shown the Muslim world that we are good people and blown holes in the terrorist rhetoric.
Then we could have gone after these rouge nations that were oppressing their Muslim populations or threatening their neighbor's or Israel and have much better results.
The other thing is we can't be the World's Police if we only get involved when
it effects our economic or security interests. I will use Darfur as an example. If we stand for the good of all people we can't turn our backs to these genocidal maniacs and do nothing.
