important flushing question
my buddy flushed his plant out 2 weeks ago thinking it would be ready by now but its not. in fact the buds are turning purple and trichs still clear and cloudy. the leaves are all green aside from the remaining original fan leaves. do you folks think we should continue feeding regular water or give it a kick of nutes? the buds all look mature, and are nearly rock hard. i dont know if it will mature to its fullest with just water, or if maybe there are still nutes to be had in remaing leaves

important flushing question
Need more info. Stuff like...how long have they been flowering, what strain, what size pots, which nutes and additives.
A picture would help, too.
Just going by your trichomes description...it shouldn't be long till they are ready...depending on the effects you wish to get from the smoke. Want a heavier, couch-lock effect...let 'em go a couple of weeks (perhaps a feeding or two inbetween, and a final flush (no more nutes) within 3-5 days of harvest)
If out of smoke, and prefer a more social (less debilitating) effect, would start to considder harvesting.
Not knowing what strain they are, or what condition they're in, or how far along they are...that's the best I can offer.

important flushing question
i have no idea when it started or what strain. im just really asking whether or not he should give it nutes to try and get more of the purple out. how important is a good flush because i would hate to see 2 weeks of flushing ruined if its not worth it.

just let it ride out if there's cloudy trichs. maybe in a week itll have some amber.. add some molasses for the next few waterings
a flush is important IMO, nothing like smoking pure weed..check out my grow log:

I stick to my regular nute schedule till last week of flower. 3 to 4 days before harvest, I flush well. If another watering is needed, plain ph'd water only. (likely unnecessary)

ok first off the purple has nothing to do with the nutes. Purple comes from the temp getting low at night. And yes some strains are more prone to temp changs but it is nothing to be concerned about. I would give your plants another 3-7 days and harvest. Just make sure you cure them for at least a week to optimize the thc content...:weedpoke::bigsmoke:
also just give them water no more nutes!!

sorry im confusing everyone. i meant bring the purple out, as in its nice. and its not from temp its apparently a cross with a purple strain. it was flushed 2 or 3 times during the two weeks. i think he is going to ride it out with water and see what happens

important flushing question
Some strains have a potential to produce purple pigment.
Some don't.
Some produce a LOT of purple pigment, and you can see it all the time.
Some only make a little and it is masked by the healthy green of chlorophyll.
Lack of nitrogen and cold temps make the chlorophyll break down and it is like pulling back a curtain to see what is behind it... PURPLE!!!
When you flush, you remove Nitrogen from the soil, and force the plant to use up whatever N it has left stored in its tissues, and not make any more chlorophyll. Eventually what is left breaks down and you can see other pigments that may be present.
No more fertilizer if you like the purple! Heck, no ferts a week from harvest anyway. Stop feeding, and start giving plain water when all your trichs are cloudy, right up until you decide it is harvest time.

thanks SA, and others. unfortunately i spotted mold up top and had to chop. half the cola was lost. unfortunate because it was maybe half but lesson learned. should have let it branch out more. all i saw was a tiny spot of fuzz but after shredding the cola the insides were being eaten. ill try to get some pics though.
