    diesel ryder winter grow

hahaitsdoogle, I am not sure I *think* that the auto flowering is a genetic trait that occurs naturally and bred to a dominant trait so that the majority autoflower in the lowryder strain. From there they have been crossing them with other strains and breeding the trait in them.

So here are some pictures they are now ten days from seed. I don't know if they are on track size wide or if they are a bit stunted because I have been having heat problems the grow area keeps hitting the nineties!

I'm happy your seedlings did ok. I did that myself this grow. I put the seeds in paper towel on a computer modem. Way hot, I had a lot of dead seeds and poor seedlings. I usually plant right in a windowbox type vessel and keep it near some heat source but it didn't work that way this time.

    Good growing.

Shov, This time of year our weather can get a bit tricky days can hit the nineties nights high fifties. The CFL's are also heating up the grow space more then I could have anticipated so I am not too sure what to do.

Well, use a thermometer to keep an eye on the temp right where the plant is. You would like to see 'day' temps below 85* and 'night ' temps over 70*
I like to use a small box fan to blow on the plants. You could use a wet towel wicking water from a bucket as the fan blows across it onto the plants. That might bring is down the temp a bit and it's easy to set up. Or an air conditioner would be great...

Shov, I have a thermometer in there are it is too warm I would have never thought that the CFL's could generate as much heat as they do. I've got a fan going in there now and that is helping. Once our weather settles down to normal I should be okay.

So they are now three weeks old. One of the seven looks kind of iffy so I am not too sure if it will survive but the rest are looking good. My main question is am I on track are they growing at a typical rate for AFs

Seattle, This is my first try with an autoflower strain. So far I can say they do seem hardy despite my screw ups(G) I wish I knew if their growth rate is normal they do seem to be growing slower then I would expect but who knows. I also think they need more light.

Hi All, Well here are some new pictures. They are 3 weeks old now. They look okay to me but seem awfully small to me. I would have thought they would be at their max height now and starting to flower but as you all can sewe they are even close to it. They are about 2-3 inches tall now. Last watering I gave them some Fox Farm Grow Big at a 1/4 strength. Any ideas?

Hmm, I have a 2 week old plant (LR2) that looks like it's on its way to being a similar size as yours by week 3. I thought that because I'm only using a 2700K bulb that possibly this was the reason for mine growing so slowly but this doesn't explain why yours are going so slow.... possibly they'll continue to grow through some of their flowering period?
I'm not sure if that is good or bad since it's taking budding energy away from buds

I noticed you mentioned heat issues, this is something I've also had to deal with. The box has been reaching 31c and I'm sure sometimes it's been hotter than that from time to time but luckily the night temps are dropping below 0c now so that'll be helping since my vents go outside.

    All the best

    Oscar Mike
