Where do snails hangout? Where should I look for it?

Really doubt that's what's happening, snails eat the whole leaf.
Slugs will scrape, but usually leave a trail to their hiding place.

If the damage continues, check them an hour or so after lights out.
Mollusks munch at midnight. Gastropods chew before dawn.
