I was thrown by some of the numbers that surfaced. The fact that Al-Quaida operates in 63 countries today and is as strong or stronger than they've ever been....WTF?
How have we won the war, if our enemies gained strength and we've lost it?
I think Barack Obama needs to NOT say stuff like ''well, John you're right...'' 142 times, and stand up like a man.

I played my bong game a little different. I took a hit every time Obama said McCain was right. Damn was I :stoned:! LOL

From a rhetorical point of view, it is probably a bad debate technique to say, ''well, John you're right...'' as much as he did. But each time that he started off that way, he ended by describing a differrence. I think it is gentlemanly to say things like, "I agree with you on this much, but this is where I disagree." That is the root of bipartisanship. McCain makes a lot of talk about being bipartisan, but he won't talk about points of common agreement --- makes you wonder how bipartisan he really is.

Like I said P4B, it was either bad intelligence or a forgery of evidence. So many people signed on to the idea because it would have been political suicide to not act tough on a country with weapons of mass destruction.

Like me. I scored a 28 composite on my ACT and desperately want to go to school but my dad and I can't afford to support ourselves while paying for it.
The president does have the power to do whatever he wants with the military, so Obama wasn't joking. At least he's shown his capability to listen to his advisers like when he went to Iraq.

Honestly, I cant say either of them has earned my vote.
I'm afraid our political system will continue to fail us until we change its structure, not its constituents.

I am one of those people that can not fully afford school even though I have a job. I work my ass off and I even have a decent paying job. Yet, with the raising prices of EVERYTHING lately, I still can not afford schooling. I've paid off several credit cards and a few loans in the past few months. Yet even though I'm making a little more money and spending A LOT less on non-essentials, it seems like I'm worse off then I was back when I had a bunch of debt.

McCain just wants to cut taxes for wealthy businesses. How will that help the little people out? It isn't. They will be too greedy to pass on the savings and will continue with what they are doing anyways. So the rich just continue to get richer and the poor get poorer. Not because of lack of motivation of the "poor", but because the conditions become harder for them because of what the government is doing.
McCains experience in the military holds no ground with me. He plays that card as often as possible. If he has so much "experience", why is it that Obama's views are much more effective in what they would accomplish? He realizes that we need to be smart with our forces instead of just attack whoever we do not agree with. That right there shows that his lack of "experience" means nothing, because he has the intelligence to realize that most of what we have done with the current wars has hurt our reputation around the globe. He realizes that we need to re-establish our reputation instead of continue to tarnish it with wars that did not or do not need to happen.
Obama also realizes that we need to look at why we are in Iraq and how it affected us by going there. Ignoring that like McCain wants to do is not a very good way to come up with a credible solution for what to do from here.
Obviously, Obama DOES understand.
