I Need a Fixture for some CFLs, someone help me
Can someone give me the name of a product they sell in home depot, like a lighting fixture that will hold about 3 or 4 CFL lights, I can't find anything. I need something I can hang over my plants and holds around 4 light bulbs. Should be some simple stuff but I can't find anything. I actually bought a bathroom fixture but it didnt even have a plug. I think I need some kind of adapter but I dont know anything about that or where/what to get. Someone help me. I see a lot of people got them in their pics of their grow rooms.

Any of them you will have to put a plugin on the end of the wires. And I don't remember whether the black and white are the power and the green is ground. Just look at the fixture and see what wire is screwed to the framework, that will be the ground. Which Im thunking is the green. And then the other 2 you can hookup to either power side of the plugin. You might check at the local salvation army of a used builders supply store to get them cheap.

This time of year Home Depot has the xmas stuff out and included are "floodlight holders" you can get them as singles or three strung together. They come with something like a 6' cord and plug. Walmart has had them in the past but am not sure if they still have them I just bought some yesterday at HD so I know they have them. Here is a picture of what I am talking about. They also are made to go outside and are water resistent making them safer.

pick up the 4 bulb vanity thing you saw wherever. then you go to the electrical part of that store and buy a 6' (or longer, as necessary) GROUNDED POWER CORD. i'll post some links here...
4 fixture vanity light: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1042/...35fcbff7a4.jpg
power cord: http://www.apexjr.com/images/PowerCord6.jpg
while you're there, get some wire caps: http://www.highspeedpc.com/images/20.jpg
and if you want to double your cfl bulb count...:http://www.electronicplus.com/images...s/700V-BOX.jpg
now, as far as wiring it goes, black to black, white to white, and as the above post says, green gets wired to the wire that is attached to the fixture itself when you open it.
here's one more link. its my cfl bulb setup:http://i460.photobucket.com/albums/q...4/100_1920.jpg\"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety\" -Benjamin Franklin

I used surface-mount light sockets (yes, purchased at Home Depot, $3) and mounted them by bolting them to 3" "L" brackets (also from Home Depot, $3 for a pair). Placing a "Y" splitter in each socket allowed me to have 2 CFLs per socket.
Then I just wired them up in sequence & stuck a cord on the end, and plugged it in.
Here are some pics:
