Newbie here, Questions on space vs how many plants?

Wassup everyone, I'm new to the growing scene. I have only grown a few outdoor and never tried indoors. But I am moving into a new house in about 2 weeks and have a space in mind for a grow setup.

I'm also waiting to get my Medical card, should come within the next 30 days. And for the County that I live in, I'm allotted 6 Mature/12 Immature/8 ounces of Bud.

So anyways, I plan to grow them in a closet in my room. The closet is one of those sliding glass door closets about 2 feet deep and 6 feet long. How many plants would be advisable to grow in this space? Should I separate the closet into two sections, one for the vegetation state and the other for flowering?

I plan to grow a couple immature females and keep them in the vegetation state with 18 hrs sunlight, and simply clone off of them in the flowering room. So 2x Immature and 4x Mature clones at all times.

Is this doable in the space provided? Also what would be a good indoor seed to get? Is it better to go hydro or soil? What kinda electricity bills can I expect from a setup like this?

I will probably cut a hole in the ceiling of the closet and run a air duct through the attic to a outside vent.

Any advice is good advice! Can't wait to get started.

Keeping in mind that I'm just an amateur...

I assume you're talking about a 2x6x7 kind of closet space. Lot of potential there for a small personal grow setup. Might want to consider a cabinet inside a corner of the closet for your plants in seedling and veg state considering that you'll need to prevent light pollution to the rest of the grow. If you were to completely split the closet than I guess light leakage wouldn't be a problem and you could skip the cabinet. Either way, you're in for a fun educational experience with rewards both material and cognitive. Depending on what kind of lighting you use, you're going to have some heat and odor issues considering the small space but there are easy workarounds if you have the ability to exhaust warm air, bring in cool air, and scrub for odor. The scrubbing is gonna be a bitch considering you're coming from a thin wardrobe closet like that.

Start small and easy. Sounds like you're going to have a blast though! Enjoy! From what I can tell, this site is packed with people who really know their shit and should be a real big help.
