Palin interview with Katie Couric

I think the Couric interviews are now over, so lets recap what we have learned about Sarah Palin:

• McCain's record on regulation issues: "I'll try ta find ya some, and I'll bring 'em to ya!" (Not really fair to criticise, because there might not be any.)
  
• Economic bailout: "So healthcare, and creating jobs, under the umbrella of job creation..." Blah, Blah... Rambling non-sequiters, going in circles, never arriving anywhere. Sounds like Miss South Carolina!
  
• Her foreign policy credentials: "When Putin rears his head and flies into our airspace." She keeps an eye on him! I feel safer already!
  
• Her preferred sources of news: "All of them, any of them that's put in front of me" But can't name one!
  
• Naming a Supreme Court case she disagrees with other than Roe v Wade: Can't name any, even though this is probably the MOST important issue to her base!

I wonder if they will get her reprogrammed on these issues before tonight.

Sarah Palin is the best thing to happen to Barack Obama,a few of my friends are laughing at the stupidity of McCain to even ask her to be V.P what the hell is he thinking and what does that say about his own judgment?Like come on she is as smart as a fucking hammer.Palin doesnt know a bloody thing about anything and she talks about are talking points and i dont even think she knows what she is talking about then.Up here we are really looking forward to the V.P debates hell we might even get a good laugh.McCain McCain what the hell were you thinking????

This is one of the things I worry about --- the fact that my country has become an international laughingstock. This country used to be respected around the world --- now mostly they either laugh at us for electing a moron president TWICE, or they despise us for the way that moron has treated the rest of the world.

Now McCain selects another moron as his runningmate, to the amusement of everyone. I find it amusing myself, until I stop to think how serious it really is.

Sarah Palin is a joke. The jobs of Vice President and President of the US are NOT a joke. She doesn't belong in that job.

Hahahahaha! What the hell is wrong with her? Maybe she is just really forgetful? She problaby was kicking herself after the interview, "Oh, dang! I shoulda mentioned that thing about Exxon! That was the Supreme Court, right? Or was it somethin' else? Aw, heck!"

Does anyone think it would be possible to replace Sarah Palin on the ticket with Tina Fey without too many people noticing? I would feel a lot more comofortable with Tina Fey as VP.

The Big Debate is only about 15 minutes away!

If I had to judge from these interviews I would say that Palin is doomed. But I saw some clips of her in other debates when she ran for Governor, and she seemed to do very well. So who knows? Maybe a debate is a better format for her?

I honestly don't know what to expect at all. It is possible she will just stammer in circles the whole time, or she might come out swinging. And Biden is very knowledgable, but he is a gaffe bomb that could go off unexpectedly at any second. He might eat her alive, or he might shove his own foot so far down his own throat that he spends the whole 90 minutes choking and gurgling.

This could be very exciting, or they could both be so cautious that it turns into a total snooze fest.

After the debate, we'll need a new thread to talk about it.

Does anyone have a proposed smoking game? My game for the last debate with a hit for every time McCain said "my friends" was a total bust. He only said it once! What is it McCain? Aren't we still friends?
