F2's, selfs, seeds, help

Are F2's bad? is there any difference except they are strainx strain instead of parent x parent to equal said strain, and selfing, (s1)? bad?



I was thinking of getting some strains, and taking my 10 pack, germ them all, and then just let em go, male and female, one strain at a time, are the f2's anyworse? less potent yield flavor smell? and selfs, theres a couple strains that are fem only like trainwreck from GHS and would selfing them for a seed stock for myself be bad?

Unless the strain is already stable, you will get variation among the offspring, with some phenos similar to the F1 you bought, and some to either parent. You have to know what you are looking for if you want to go the F2 route.
The GHS trainwreck has a bad rep for herming, so you're gonna get S1s even if you don't want them hahaha.

oh well, and i was thinking of some decently stable strains like, serious's ak47- which that i know of only has 3 phenos, not sure if they all even exist :P, the cherry, skunk, and normal ak47 phenos, would the phenos be any different?

how common is the herming? and is it bad like pollinate a bunch a plants and schwaggy or a seed a bud?

I would concentrate on growing many successful crops first, before getting involved in 'breeding' ... otherwise, you're just 'throwing pollen' ... in my 'beginner' breeding, I went thru several crops (approx. 3 yrs. involved) just to come up with my 'lucky' results ... it's interesting, definitely, but sure is hard on your stash and your wallet ... (you lose a LOT of bud, when growing for seeds, for example) ... good luck :thumbsup:

oh this is for later, im already concentrating on growing from some schwag ( its not dirt schwag, its actually what people describe as mids, mids here doesnt exist )
