Depends where you live but its kinda to late for a outdoor grow in some areas. What i suggest you do over the winter is read as much as you can about growing ( rip books off torrents in pdf form ) till spring rolls around. I'm new myself and all ive been doing is reading since july and waiting for 09 outdoor grow
Check out the forums too. For instance, read up on plant problems and see what other people are having trouble with cause most likely you're going to have some problem yourself.

NEED HELP
Rooftops are almost always too hot.
South Florida is still on the same light schedule as the rest of the Northern Hemisphere. REad up. Day length is important.

well if its gonna be too hot i can always put it in the coner of the roof becasuse the roof comes up about 2 feet and that will limit its sunshine, but idk if that will limit it too much. also about how long after the planting will it take to see it break through the surface of the soil?

not too many companies offering "marijuana grow kits".........for obvious reasons. read grow journals, they help a lot.
