Also in the CBS interview, Biden said, ??When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn??t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ??Look, here??s what happened.?? ?

Republican Herbert Hoover was in office when the stock market crashed in October 1929 - well before the advent of TV.

Obama made a rare rebuke of his running mate in an interview with NBC yesterday morning.

Anchor Matt Lauer asked Obama about his criticism of Republican rival John McCain for his flip-flop on the AIG bailout, noting Biden also initially opposed the bailout.
