    ph rising rapidly

ok so i have two soil grows under my belt so far but this time i decided to try hydro

i am running a DWC set up and the seedling has been in there 4 days so far and is growing nicely

my only problem is that my ph rises up to 7 and above very quickly

i use ph down until i obtain a ph of 6 and i contine to check it throughout the day and surprisingly to me, after about an hour or two the ph is back at 7 and sometimes even higher

now i can easily adjust this back down to 6 but its annoying to have to adjust ph like 10 times a day on 4 different buckets

is there anything i could be doing wrong that is causing ph to rise so fast? is this normal that ph rises? i knew ph tends to move back towards 7 as water and nutrients get used up but i didnt think it happend within hours

    the tap

its about 7.5 from the tap, i add very light dosage of nutes and then ph down until ph is around 6 and it keeps rising back up to 7

On your next grow, try using distilled water. You will have better success with that. Plus you want have any ph problems like you are having now.

Distilled water? Naturally he will add cal mag to that in place of everything the distilled has taken out.

What medium are you using? Is it hydroton? Did you presoak at the correct ph? What are your ppms numbers? Consistenly high ph could be a sign of nuteburn.

I debliberately avoided answering this question originally due to the fact that the information offered to solve the problem was almost nil. The answer to his problem is listed easily if he searches ph issues since these forums are FULL of correct info on it.

That doesn't seem to bother some other folks who offer advice though, so perhaps it is I who is mistaken.

    Aloha, Stemis

Just gotta poke my nose in here.

I notice that you ignored WH's question about the Hydrotron.
Yet, took the bad advice about distilled water. :wtf:
    Interesting.
    Are we perhaps a little:S5: ?

Weedhound knows what she's talking about and had good reason to ask that question.
If you really want help, it's best to figure out who to listen to and and when.
Had you responded with more information, or filled out the troubleshooting questions, you might have a solution by now.

    I'm not raggin' on ya.
    (well, maybe a little)

Free advice is worth what ya pay for it, usually.
Any advice you can get from Stinky Attic, or Weedhound, or a dozen others here, is priceless!
So, my friend, would you care to try again?

I don't know why people don't like the idea of using distilled water. But I have seen growers use distilled water for their grow and they had success.
