    Quitting Weed.. Peep it

I don't think weed can _make_ you anything. You are who you are, and if you let marijuana adversely affect your life, then perhaps marijuana is not for you.

However, I do believe that weed puts you in a sort of a haze if you smoke it all the time.. If you know what I mean

Once I don't have to take drug tests any more I certainly don't plan to quit again..

I think it doesn't take much self control at all to choose what type of person you are even while smoking pot..

I don't plan to quit, maybe one day, potentially, i don't mind taking breaks every now and then.

It's good to hear that you've helped yourself out by not smoking pot for the last 8 days. Depending on how much you smoked and for what reason, it really could help some people out to quit or take a break.

I'm on a break right now. Can't say it's helped me be more productive or clear headed. That and it hasn't saved me any money cause I don't buy it.

My favorite thing about weed is that it clears up headaches and other less then comforting symptoms that I may have at times.

I also enjoy taking it before activities because it makes me feel that more in touch with what I'm doing. Which in turn, helps me enjoy the activities to a higher level then I usually would have.

I think that is the problem that some people have. They become content with the higher sense of enjoyment they get off of just sitting around. You just have to have the ambition to do more then that. Sometimes it's also the people you associate yourself with. I have experienced both situations and with a little ambition broke free of the less then productive lifestyle while still smoking.

    Sober is nice.

    High is high.

    I like to burn.

    I like to be clean.

    But weeds me.

    I am weed.

    Me and weed are one.

So I'm going to go burn one.

If you are thinking about quitting or taking a break, let me say, its worth it.

I have only been smoking for about 3 years and it was a good time, weed is amazing.. but I realized I wasn't very productive anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I was still taking care of what I needed to do and I was responsible with my use but upon taking weed out of my life I just felt drastically better. All my friends just sit around and get high all day, from the outside looking in, its pretty pathetic.

Like many of you, I felt like I was still fine and you know "its just weed", but seriously, taking a little break will make you realize that weed does slow you down and holds you back, wether it be school, fitness, relationships, whatever.

I challenge anybody to stop for a week, save money, lower your damn tolerance.

    or not..

just keep staying high.. lol. Just figured I'd share
Grow your bud, find a girl who enjoys what you enjoy, work out and study and then get high, find friends with ambition. I mean what ever works for you. You are who you associate yourself with, I stopped chilling with everyone I partied with in the past.

I was going to UCF but I am currently home bound for injury. I start college in January, did great on exams accept for math, yet I have never been good in it.

My priorities are in order, I am on track in life. I learn social skills with the people I do associate myself with when I smoke because I can see their point of views on the subject in conversation, thus allowing me to carry better conversation.

It lets me not rationalize things as much, it allows me to see what is going on visually.

    __________

When I'm clean and sober, I'm edgy, I feel like I speeding, I'm a cocky asshole, I rationalize things even if I know its wrong i order to get places.
Theirs just things about myself with I'm sober I don't like. Smoking relaxes something and turns everything around. Even know I have become somewhat quite because of smoking, but when I do say something it sticks, it makes conversation, etc.

Theres no doubt in my mind that getting clean helps your mind, and makes your wallet fatter.
I myself have been clean since...August 11th. I'm 18, only heavily started smoking weed for like a year, and i had to quit because at my highschool they do random drug tests on all athletes. So instead of taking the niacin approach, better safe than sorry i suppose.

The fact that I was able to quit just like that.. it's encouraging. I WILL be back to smokin weed, probably around Thanksgiving. But anytime that anyone reading this is thinking about taking a break, go for it.
It will clear your mind for a few days, the clouds will clear, and you'll probably be more on top of things while your clean.

but make no mistake - I've said it before and I WILL say it again - everyone likes smokin weed. :rastasmoke:

thanks for the posts guys. you guys are open minded and cool, which is why I've been here for three years... (with only 80 posts lol)

but ya I know that weed effects people differently and whats right for me, may be totally wrong for others. I definately wasn't trying to challenge weed or anything either haha, i love it.

Just merely saying that if anybody here was questioning themselfs or thinking about taking a break, that don't let the joy of getting high stop you. I used to have a coke problem, so i really don't consider weed to be a strong drug by any means..

I'll be smoking again soon, probably real soon, but when someone offers me a joint, or a pipe I just think hey I can wake up tomorrow and have this be day 10, or day 1..

and for some reason, I like being able to say day 10 more then get high for a little bit, which is really weird because I never used to be this way at all.

i find that after immersing myself in weed for a while and then taking a long break can make sobriety that much more... interesting and enlightening... dare i say trippy?
haha completely agree.its trippy to walk around and look at other people and be like "oh this is how they were feeling, while i was walking around baked" haha.. its a renewed feeling..

when it involves straight forward claims of "weed does slow you down in all areas of your life."
I don't think I ever said it slows you down in all areas of your life, haha, I meant one way or another. sex got better after not smoking, I can run again without weezing.. again, this is all personal...benefits... won't be the same for everybody, just letting you know what happened for me.

thats one of the worst pains for a smoker! when both of what u mention happen, thats like double whammy!

but plz take care and dont fall for unknown offers, i have my gangsta share of the lifestyle and i know it just aint worth it... wait n wait, those who gotta make money are working hard to get some deliveries in your area, be sure!

I have lost money and gotten in trouble in the very exact situation u r in, cuz i was not able to resist the temptation anymore and I was quite the person who nobody wanted to mess around with, but they did... anyways just a heads up

and as for OP, I really wish u success in your plans. the worst part probably is yet to come, mj at most is psychologically addictive and depending on what happens u might feel an intense need to bum and escape for a while... I had to deal with that as well and it was not too easy, but it was not that hard either... I'm sure u can handle it. JUST STICK WITH YOUR INITIAL PLAN: dont make exceptions, dont fall for offered opportunities, u will probably notice that when u quit and want to stay that way there will be some really sound offers for u, thats how karma tests ya and gets ya!
