Any ManTracker fans here?

I think this show deserves some mention here; I love it! Apparently many other's do too, as it's become the most popular show made in Canada now.

For those who don't know, ManTracker is a show made in Canada that takes place all over North America. They get this guy who's basically a cowboy from Alberta, spent 9 years in a search and rescue team professionally, and an expert at tracking down people. So they get two contestants known as the "prey", who have to make it from their possition to the finish, roughly 40 miles away and all through terrain way out in the boonies. They start with a 2 mile head-start, and ManTracker uses his skills to try to track them and catch them before they make it to the finish. I'd say about 1/3 of the time the prey manage to make it; he's good!


But for those who have seen it, I was wondering what you thought of the suspicious camera possitioning? I mean it all seems very real, the contestants are very real people, but the camera-men don't all add up for me.
First of all, wouldn't the one camera man keeping with them be an unfair dis-advantage in that he could give them away? There's a lot of parts where they're hiding and ManTracker is only 15 feet away. They'd also, somehow, have to guarantee that he can keep up with them, carrying a heavy camera along.
Secondly, a lot of times they get shots that don't seem possible. Like when the prey is running and they're somehow getting the shot from 500 feet in front of them. And again, would the camera men be giving them away?


Either way, whether some things are fixed or there's a good explanation for all that, I love the show and always catch new episodes! Any other fans here?

can you watch episodes online anywhere? sounds cool. they might be using a helicopter with a zone lens for the far away stuff (think planet earth) ill try and find some episodes and see if i can report back what youre talking about

Sounds like reality TV to me.

I don't like reality television.

That's because American reality TV is shit. Survivor, Big Brother, all that drama-filled crap to entertain the simpletons. I like a show that actually encourages an outdoor lifestyle.

Billionfold, if it makes you feel better about the show, ManTracker only uses forensic tracking for the cameras. In reality, he's a former jedi and uses his force senses to track them down. :jointsmile:

Actually they use MI6 cameras really friggin small, 007 is hiding in the bush to make sure things stay legit. O and Predator too.
