I need some cargiver info
Hi all,
I have a friend who is an experienced gardener, but knows little about MMJ. I have some questions and would really appreciate someone steering me in the right direction.
For argument's sake, let's say I'm interested in having a garden with 30 veg, and 30 flowering plants. I would need to be the primary caregiver for 10 patients. How do I go about making those contacts and being designated their primary caregiver? Will dispensaries help me with this or do I need to do it all on my own, perhaps through the use of websites like this one?
I'm terrified of the idea of my actual address being published on a document that the state has access to, can I use a P.O. Box, or is there a popular method that's used to keep your identity/location discreet?
If I have 60 plants at my house, and the MMJ documentation to go with it (in the city of Denver), and I'm raided, it's somewhat likely that very little will happen to me on the cultivation side. I'm a little concerned about tax evasion and/or money laundering. Creating a legal entity and paying taxes on it creates a paper trail and exposure that I'd rather not deal with. On the other hand, having my house and cars seized would kind of suck too. So, I know if it were over 100 plants the Feds would get involved and would be looking very closely at asset seizure. Does anyone know whether or not the Denver Police Dept. does the same thing. The stories I've read and people I talk to so far mostly just have their growing equipment confiscated and little else.
I'm sure I'll come up with more questions as time goes on. Feel free to PM me if you like. Thanks for your help.snowking Reviewed by snowking on . I recall reading a thread in the past 3-5 mos (time flies when having canna.com fun) anyway, they were having meeting somewhere in the Colorado Springs area. It did not apply to me, so I didn't save it! Sorry, but you might find it somewhere in the threads! Good luck to you. There seems to be a lot of advantages there with organization!!! Even some of the current events have articles on Colorado with info you may pluck out to help yourself.
dawnie-I think you might want to start your own thread on that topic. There are a lot of sites, I am sure people will stir you into. Post it for Colorado, so you get local interest! Good luck to you and glad you are well enough to find Cann.com--welcome to the group! pr:hippy:
check out the link above your post. Others will come. I am a PC idiot, sorry!

I need some cargiver info
(4) (a) A patient may engage in the medical use of marijuana, with no more marijuana than is medically necessary to address a debilitating medical condition. A patient's medical use of marijuana, within the following limits, is lawful:
(I) No more than two ounces of a usable form of marijuana; and
(II) No more than six marijuana plants, with three or fewer being mature, flowering plants that are producing a usable form of marijuana.
(b) For quantities of marijuana in excess of these amounts, a patient or his or her primary care-giver may raise as an affirmative defense to charges of violation of state law that such greater amounts were medically necessary to address the patient's debilitating medical condition.
-------------------
I think the real issue/debate is going to be settled in the courts. Most patients I've spoken with are not even aware of the clause above, simply put, if you require more than the state maximum quantities in either usable form or in the process of growing, you can use the line above in your defense. "2 ounces or 6 plants was not enough to manage my medical condition" However, until this is settled in the courts you should join NRAD Rocky Mountian Caregivers Cooperative and get connected with the caregivers there to see how they handle this situation.
