yikes... failed at home test

Here's my situation:

I've got to take a pre-employment test in the next week or so. I've been a daily smoker for years and today has been 28 days since I quit smoking. I'm in my mid 20's, 5'10" and 125 lbs. I'm a skinny guy and lightly active. I walk a lot and do push ups/pull ups/sit ups 3-4 days a week. I'm a light eater and pretty health conscious, drinking 40-60oz of water daily.

Anyway, I picked up an at-home thc test and took it while I was whizzing after a bike ride. I purposely didn't drink a lot of liquids cause I wanted to know if I could pass the test straight up. Well it came up positive and I was pretty surprised. I immediatly ordered some QF w/ expeditied shipping; I really hope it gets here in time. I'll probably get another at-home test and do a practice run w/ dilution. I'm just really surprised that I didn't pass after a month. In case the QF doesn't arrive on time, hopefully after 5 weeks of not smoking and some dilution I'll be able to pass.

Any thoughts?

quick question:

Would using more urine on the test than the 2-3 drops effect the outcome? Cause I didn't use the dropper (didn't realize it was included until afterwards), I just kinda pissed in the specimen area, making a bit of a mess, but none of it got in the test area.

Yea, that probably did affect the test's outcome. If you dont follow the right procedure thats going to affect the outcome. I think you'll be just fine with a light dilution. Just remeber to take Super B-Complex.

Drink lots and lots of water starting from when you see this. I drank a shit load and in a month i passed my test. I was a daily smoker and im fat and short. Water is your best friend in this case, atleast 12 cups a day, plus you got nothing to lose.

Thanks, ya'll. I'm gonna grab another test and do a practice run on friday. At least my employer isn't stressing me to take the test; just have to take it before I start. I can always bump back my start date.

Drinking lots of water now does nothing but keep you hydrated. Probably part of the reason you failed was doing it right after exercising. Burning fat releases the thc metabolites. Thats why you should stop exercising 2 or 3 days before the test.

I picked up a couple more at-home tests yesterday. This morning I got up and made some eggs and had a glass of milk and a little powerade. I normally wake up and drink 15-25oz of water just cause I'm thirsty; I didn't this morning cause I wanted to make sure I wasn't diluting my piss too much.

Anyway, it's been 32 days now and this time I passed my at-home test. The line was lighter than the control line, but a line is a line I suppose. I've been taking fiber supplement for the last few days, so that probably helped. I'm gonna use my other at home test the day of the real deal. Although, I may just use the QF if it gets here soon enough. I'll have been 36 days when I go for the official test.

i just got back from the testing place. I home-tested my first pee this morning and passed with a faint line. I took my QF cause I really cannot afford to fail this test. At the testing place she asked me to fill the cup up half-way, which was about twice as much QF as I had, so I added a little of my own urine. It's been 37 days since I smoked. I sure hope it comes out alright. I'll be anxiously waiting by the phone.
