I have just moved my CFL shade into my main grow area where i also have a couple of HPS's which i have hung at a 45 angle. In the CFL shade i have 4 x 200w blue bulbs and the HPS's are both 250w.

This is my first time using CFL's and started from seed with just these bulbs. Has anyone tried using these 2 different lights at the same time and with what results? This is only my second grow and was using just HPS before and my veg period was a lot shorter as these seem to be growing very slowly. Have 3 white rhino and 4 himalaya gold.

Also i have removed some of the bottom branches already from each plant as last time i just let them grow and the bud that grew on the bottom was useless. Have heard this will put more energy into the top of the plant aswell. Have i removed these lower branches to soon or does it not really matter?

I have some red tinted bulbs for the HPS's for flowering but none for the CFL's. Would it be wise to invest in some for the type of grow?
