Is this seedling indica or sativa or hybrid?
Is this seedling indica or sativa or hybrid?
It is bagseed from some dank weed I had last christmas.
Im thinking its an indica because of the fat leafs I see.
and me mother said if it is indica then I need to try to get as many growth tops as I can get befor I flower it. so I'll get more buds.
I hope it grows good and hope it ends up being female.
thinks for ur info on this.

You can look and see some leaf structure here.
The one labelled 'AFD' (big pot in 1st pic) is the same clone line as the previous post.
The one labelled 'AL' (small pot in 1st pic, RH pot in 2nd pic) is a different clone line dating back 20 years, which is a pure Affie.
The one labelled 'BI' (fatty leafed plant in LH pot in 2nd pic) is Plan B's Black Indica, whcih is Afghani x Iranian.

I'll get pics of my two pure Affies, and of an Affie/Iranian cross, and a couple Indi-leaning hybrids and post them up. I can't find any on my thumb drive at the moment.
That Cervantes pic does not look like any 'pure Afghani' I have ever seen, and him calling C. afghanica an actual species is incorrect.
Okay I found one in my gallery over at IC... here she is, pure Afghani frostiness:

well if it is an mostly indica then that kicks ass cuz I have chronic back pain.
so it would help with that Im think.
I have heard that indica buds R great on helping with pain in the body.
and thanks for the insite on the afganica and indicas.stankyattic.

Is this seedling indica or sativa or hybrid?
My pick is most likely hybrid. My reasoning includes:
-Commercial bagseed is commonly hybrid, and as I recall HC is growing bagseed.
-Hybrids may have extreme wide leaves; see Greg Green's Cannabis Breeder's Bible.
-True Affies have a long slender tip on the leaves, whcih are wide but not excessively so.
I've never seen an Afghan that looks like that, and I've never met anyone who can determine lineage from a picture of a 3-node seedling.
C. indica var. Afghanica is a subspecies of C. indica, not a species in its own right. And pure landrace Afghani is not as easy to find as one might suspect.
This whole thread is speculation.

Is this seedling indica or sativa or hybrid?
that info i got about the fat=sativa and skinny=indica came from this website!
my freind who is a member @ cannacom also read that same thread and thought the same way I did! so I looked it up in Jorge Cervantes Indoor Bible
and it said that skinny=sativa and fat=indica but there are some indica strains that have skinnier leaves! and the picture in the book says that AFGHANICA has the very distinct extra wide leaves. the picture of the AFGHAN in the book looks exactly like your picture. So I have to say that your plant is AFGHAN.If get over too friends house later this week I'll scan the book page and post for you, so you can see the extra wide leaves. the book has 4 strains in it: sativa/indica/ruderalis/Afghanica it has a picture of the Hash plant Afghanica strain the plant has leaves that look close to indica leaves in size.it also says that the Afghan has higher THC content than indica and most growers breeders cannot distinguish Afghan from indica and put them both into the indica category. So if your plant is a AFGHAN yea!whooo! make some seeds from it for sure! I really think it is those extrawide leaves are unmistakable
answer:
A. Sativa
B. Indica
C. Ruderalis
D. Afghanica
My pick is D Afghanica
