ahhhhhhh i know I know ....... but I have this go big or go home thing about my personality and it's not helping me keep the grow small ;-o

I just feel that if I plan it properly, and carry it out with the high level of discipline required to succeed, it will pay off that way I want it to.

not to discourage u or anything

just remember the law is far more willing to bust u, than u r smart to avoid them

im just sayin it, that the slightest mistake can be disastrous, so make sure whatever detailed plan u have, u have tested it from pov of law to be a smart one, treat your own plan as u were cop trying to bust u and see if your plan wins

stinky took the words outta my mouth..if your in a small town, more nosy people. ABSENTEE LANDLORD is what your lookin for. but I'd still be careful growing in someone else's house.
Is the cost of the house itself part of your budget. I'd go w/ a hydro grow, you can build it yourself for so much less $.
did I hear you say you have $3.5k to invest in your operation but you wouldn't be able to afford nutes for a hydro grow . that's absurd, specially if you plan on making money off of your grow to make the move to Humbolt.
Don't get caught up thinking soil is that much cheaper in the end. soil or coco isn't cheap when your talking as large of a scale grow as your talkin. the initial investment for hydro is more than buying the pots for soil, but you won't have to buy soil after every grow. you'd get your money back for the cost of nutes in one grow in hydro.. but that's just my $.02

    Great post 1st off.

Initially, I was working with a 2k budget, But I decided to sit back and continue to save $ and plan more before rushing into it. But thats why I was hesitant to start with hydro, and I wasn't too crazy about making my own system. However, a local commercial grower that I happened to meet recently is willing to teach me how to construct my own decent sized op, so I am now considering it strongly. I am also leaning towards the "stadium" soil format as well.

I've spent a HUGE amount of time, way more than I care to say, putting time and effort into planning and learning the process. Honestly, given my circumstances, NO, I do NOT think it is something that I want to look for longevity in, on a LARGE scale. more like, 1-2 large grows, cash out, and moe to humboldt and do it legally....lol. but maybe I am just dreaming a little now.

But this little hobby has def. become an obsession. ;-P

I agree. I think short term, I am at a huge advantage, and that as time goes on, the margin becomes much more thin. As a result, I am budgeting and planning accordingly.

I want to do 2 grows, and then leave.

I feel like the window is small enough that I can achieve what I want to, without drawing much heat, and not giving murphy's law as much time to catch up to me, since there will only be 2 harvests.

I feel it is a calculated risk that I am willing to take.
