    Newbie CFL Grow

Hey. I have two clones i got from a friend. I'm growing using a small flood and drain table with four cups. I had an old wardrobe laying in my garage and i use it for this. Clay pellets are the grow medium. My lighting is (get ready for it) 12 100W equivalent CFLs. 6 cool white, 6 warm white. I have an unknown, water-soluble veg fert that came with the table. I don't have a lot of $ laying around but i make it work. 18/6 lighting...250 cfm duct fan... small fan inside for circulation... Any questions, please ask... Anyways, back to my plants. Just some random questions... I gave my friend four rockwool cubes to start clones. He gave me two clones when his setup crashed due to fungus gnats. One clone was in a rockwool cube and ready to go, the other was in a peat soil ball (whatever they're called). They were about the same size when i got them, and the rockwool one TOOK OFF. The peat one kinda lagged behind and when i finally saw roots poking thru (3 weeks later) i did a root rinse and transplanted to the clay pellets. Now it too is starting to grow nicely. i know that my friend accidently put them into flower 3-4 days before he gave them to me. So, two questions:

    1) My larger one, as it grew, had mostly single leaf fan leaves. Now its starting to produce five finger leaves. But i have read about a stress related mutation that produces large yields. Could this be it? I'll post pics soon.

    2) The smaller of the two has a much more noticeable odor to it. Could this be related to an early flowering? Its just very pungent compared to the other. Cloned from same plant so i don't know...

Any help is very much appreciated!
    Thanks

hey all. i'm gonna be getting some money here soon. i'm looking to upgrade my light. my cabinet has about 3.5' of vertical grow space (approximate dimensons = 5'Hx3'Wx19"D). i want to do scrog in the future, but will be using my new light to flower my current plants. i know heat is a factor with HPS and MH, especially in limited space. so, would it be best to get a euro style air cooled reflector, or could i get away with a standard reflector doing scrog? here's the products i'm considering.

IF I GO AIR COOLED I'M GETTING THIS:
DIGITAL 400 watt HPS GROW LIGHT SYSTEM AIR COOLED HOOD - eBay (item 180196841356 end time Oct-12-08 14:47:44 PDT)

    IF I DO STANDARD REFLECTOR...:
    400 watt HPS+MH GROW LIGHT w HORIZONTAL REFLECTOR 400w - eBay (item 180180080485 end time Oct-08-08 14:26:28 PDT)

chime in and let me know. any questions, ask. thanks and grow on!
