Hey Guys,

Beginning My First Grow Log, glad to have a community on bored,

Pictures wont be up till tomorrow but here are the basic specs.

Me and My roommate built a 6'x24"x30" Cabinet out of some scrap wood for this grow.

We lined the thing with black plastic than Mylar on top of that.

Everything was washed with a peroxide solution to ensure no mold will take hold as this has ruined 3 of my previous grows. On top of this we baked the soil at 350 for two increments of 45 minutes to destroy and pests and bacteria.

We are running off a 400w MH for veg conversion bulb then a 400w HPS for bloom.

For ventilation we have a 4"x4" hole cut in the bottom for intake and a 6" diameter 20" length Carbon Coal Filter running to a top mounter inline fan not sure the CFM for I bought it a while ago. Probably around 500.

Due to some heat problems I recently purchased a Cool Tube--Light Pipe Reflector--to run around the HID light which was heating out system up to about 100 degrees. YIKES!

The seeds are from my trip to jamaica and are most likely a sativa strain. Thus this grow will be heavily LST, FIM, Pruned, and all of the sorts in order to manage the height of the plant.

About two days ago we began the germination of eight of our huge stockpile of these seeds so we will see how things go.

Seedling soil is Jiffy Mix and the regular soil is MG--ew i know. The MG is already fertalized but i got some Cal Mag, Supervit, and GH products in case the MG runs short.

Our water supply is tap but I have one of those fancy 70$ ph testers and aquarium ph up and down to balance it around 6.8 just in case the chlorine is to much.

I also picked up some Hydrogen Peroxide 3% solution to oxidize those babies if need be. I have never tried this before but this whole process is a learning experience.

3 of the seeds have just barely cracked and the cooltube is to arrive soon so we should be alright till then.

I plan on sticking whatever germinates into some basic red plastics cups with holes in them until they build a sufficient root system in which I am going to transplant them into 4 medium sized plastic pots and stick them straight to bloom to accommodate the space requirements. Out of those four whatever is female I'll hold on to and bloom and take the males out.

Its a pretty basic set up and the only thing I'm worrying to much about is the heat issue but hopefully the cool tube will fix that.

Essentially we are running this vent set up.

CCF--6" flexi air duct--6" Cool Tube--6" flexi air duct--500 cfm (I think) fan.

Along with an oscillating fan to promote strong stems and a CPU fan at the air intake to increase air flow.

Like I said pictures will be up tomorrow and I'm glad to have you guys on bored.
