This Is where i have it now about 5 inches from canopy. 86.1 at the canopy. 76 outside the tent. you really think i should pull it up? ive dropped the hight recently and the temp hasnt risen. I wish i had a better reflecter. Home made one sucks.

Well something is not right. You should be able to put the back side of your hand on the cool tube without it being uncomfortable.

If you uncap your passive intake side of the cool tube you should have a very strong vacuum. If not then the air/radiant heat is sitting inside the cool tube too long and it's leaking out into your room.
I would choose temps over keeping the light close to the canopy. I'm sure others would agree with me but you may want to post this question in the plant problems forum just to be sure.
I would pull it back, or add stronger ventilation rather than leave it where it currently sits.

Temps are stable at 81 degrees at canopy today..could be due to the extra duct work i set in a colder area in the room. still at the same distance.

I hope so. Im really hoping to have denser buds. so far my average is about 22 grams a plant. So lets home it increase since ive added the hps at the 6th week of flowering. My next grow will be the factor with the new genetics. NYCD is going to rest for awhile. I still have 5 seeds left. lets hope they are also females

Looking very nice there Anbesol:thumbsup:
Sounds like you had your welcome to the world of HID lighting with the heat issue. Excellent job on figuring out what was wrong so you can get the most out the light:thumbsup:
I love NYCD and my hats off to you! I would grow it but I would be so frigin parinoid from the smell. I am at the start of ripening now in my current grow and I can still get a wiff from mine occasoinaly thru the scrubers and that gets me parioid. I can't imagin what NYCD would do to me.
