"Romantic" love is usually more an expression of fear!

Well... i would say that romantic love is an expression of sexual desire, parent love is an expression of possessivity (MY son/daughter) or self-love (as sons and daughters are actually a part of their fathers/mothers), and filial love is a expression of the need for protection, care and nourishment.
So, the only true love is the one felt for everyone or everything, without any other reasons, desires or attachments. The one which is given by free without need of retribution of any kind.
