13 Finger Fan Leaf
General cupped-over appearance of the older fan leaves indicates rootbound. Not just tips, but also edges. If it looks like an upside-down canoe, repot. If it looks like a rightside-up canoe, raise your lights.

Edit: Nah, it's neither too late nor too dangerous. I'm assuming 5 to 9 would be average. I found a fan leaf with 13 fingers on it. Yup, 13. Now, I think that is pretty amazing. Has anyone seen larger? If so, how many? Anyone want to see a picture?
