    Air Coolable Reflectors.

Does anyone here have any experience with the either the "Easy Cool 6" or the "Euro Reflector"?

I have 2 400 watt HTG systems that came with the bat wing style reflectors, and I am really really considering picking up a couple of these, hopefully to help with temps during flower when I start running both lights together. As of now my temps are running between 80 and 84, but that is with just 1 light running, and it's about 18-24 inches above the canopy. Even if I can't get temps that much lower, I would really really like to get my lights closer to the canopy when time comes to flower! How effective are either of these, are they worth the money?
And how the hell do the socket assemblies that I have, mount into them? They are supposed to be compatible with what I have as per HTG, but I just can't picture my socket in them. I have a socket, on the end is a smallish metal housing which the cord comes out the bottom. Does this part not go inside the reflector, then the reflector has some metal brackets inside that the housing for my socket screws into? I have some pics of what I have, and then pics of both reflectors. You can also see what I have in pics in my grow log. Click the siggie.
Thanks in advance for your opinions.
Oh also, could I run them together inline connected? I will be using my 6 inch can fan to pull air through them.
    Thanks again.

they are compatible. all there are is 4 screw that hold in the socket. that hood your getting make sure its sealed. i bought an aircooled from htgs and it said it was air cooled but it wasnt sealed so it sucks up co2. and yes you can daisy chain them together with one 6inline fan. and yes they are worth it. to bad you didnt buy a quality ballast tho cause everything your going to buy for your ballast is going to have to come from htgs. unless you cut and splice into your stuff now. that reflector isnt cheap either. i bought a quality one made from Xtrasun and its totally sealed and very well built for the same price. it is also compatible with many ballasts and digitals out there.

Mine is th Solar Six whick looks just like the Easy Cool 6. Looking at your other thread it looks like your socket may work. Its just got a housing covering the socket. You won't be using that cover in the new housing. Can run them inline no problem. I would push the air through them not suck.

thanks alot guys! good to get the re-assurances. killerweed, pushing through better for the fan, not exposing the fan to the heat? I always wondered which way to do it?
cigs, I should be straight with the ballasts, etc.. already have the 2 400 watt lights from htg too with ballasts! thanks though.
man i cannot wait to get these! they are already on the way!

If you push the air through the fan won't get hot. And these inline fans are usually manufactured to push better than pull. Except for maybe the vortex. It was designed to be used on boats to suck the air out of the hull.

good to know thanks! btw, please feel free to stop on by my grow log and add your wisdom! I will be updating it tonight. Thanks again! Setting it up to push is going to be much less of a pain in the ass than it would be to set it up to pull, the way my space is laid out so that is good to hear!

imo it is better to pull than to push. ive read a lot of threads in here that people have temp problems and it was from pushing air. all my set ups were pull rather than push and it kept that light soooo coool! also since it was pulling air through the lights it was pulling the hot air + stale air out while i just had another hole in the grow room for a passive air intake. its an ostburg fan too.
