Small pot is fine, make sure it has good drain holes. Transplant the plant when you see roots growing out of drain holes. To a bigger pot, like a gallon size at least. I like to transplant three times, one small, one gal, then their final home, 15 gal. All done during Vedge stage. I grow outside in containers tho. So you may be limited contianer size wise, if your growing inside.
Good luck,
and good growing.
