Too much light??I have 7 sprouts ranging from ~1-2inches currently under 300w equavalint cfls (i think they are 23w or something) anywho I also have a 400w hps that im going to use, however can you have too much light for a seedling? I know you can with clones b/c they don't have the established root structure and they lose water, but is this also true for seedlings?? i want to give them the best and brightest 2-3months of their lives, but not over do it.

Too much light??More light = more lumens = more goodness.

 You should be fine.

You prob don't NEED the 400w at the moment. Doing the math, 300w of cfl is roughly 13 bulbs @ 23w a piece. I would wait til they grow some more. That way you shouldn't have to worry about heat when they are that young. Hope that gives you some insight.

Too much light??yes more lumens the better, but i think your main concern should be heat.
 they are delicate when young.
remember, we didnt switch to hps until almost flowering time.
i think better to wait a little longer then risk burning them

ill ship that shit tomorrow man...god bless your grow:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Too much light??thanks buddy, still havent taken any pics yet. heat is a non issue, we vent the a/c straight to the light, after running 18hr straight the temp is a wonderful 78 degrees. using some frozen water bottles the water stays a bit cooler.

Too much light??Once you see the first set of real leaves you can go right under your 400 hps no problem. I put mine under a 600 mh within two weeks after they sprout. In my opinion cfl's are junk i use t5's to germinate them then right under the hid lighting about the only thing cfl's are good for is mothers and germ...... of course this is my opinion

Too much light??As much light as you can/want to give, up to the point where you also give too muhc heat.
I agree that T5s are outstanding for young sprouts. I run my seedlings under T5s until they have 5 nodes and are ready for a transplant into something larger than a 3" pot. After that, a nice MH with the outstanding hort blue bulb... mmmm!!! Juicy!

Too much light??I am starting seedlings too, I have had no success lately with my seedlings I have killed 20 fem seeds expensive. I germinate them and I put them under one t5 light in a humidity dome tray. I have been using cocoa pellets and watering them 5ml to 10ml of water each mourning. Aswell I am using a heat pad. They ussually sprout and green leafs come. After a week they turn yellow and thrivel up and then they are dead. please help thanks Jeremy
