Pest Control
Oh and I have a little gaurd in my veg room. He's a green tree frog. He showed up after we got back and I expected him to leave but since I had a bunch of flying insects in there I just left him alone. I loose track of him from time to time but then there he is bright green hanging onto a branch in the WR mother, or other times he's climbed up the white walls and has changed grey to blend in. I put a dish of water in with him and slowly the bugs dissappeared. Now I have a bit of a problem. It's too cold outside for him to be able to find a good place to hibernate before he just slows down and eventually freezes in his journey, but he needs food. So should I take the chance and find a log to put him under or put him on the compost heap and let him crawl in and find a warm spot for the winter, or should I just run to the petstore and grab some crickets or mealworms to throw in a dish for him from time to time? Any ideas? I kinda like him and he really likes my lights. Oh I know there are ants in the flower room will he eat those, should I put him in there? Oh and year round I have spiders all over that garage. I think I just like him because he didn't run away like all the leopard frogs I put in there did.

Pest Control
Hey there Chronic Chrissy,
The last time I had a frog,it was one that I brought home from sleepaway camp at almost 40 years ago...My parents were always great with the dogs and cats but this frog didn't make it...I forgot all about that frog until I read your thread...FREAKY!!!
I'd keep him...Sounds like you're diggin' him and I bet anything he's content with the warmth and the safety in his environment...If you know how to give him extra munchies when pests aren't a prob,2 cool...
I VOTE THE FROG STAYS!!!:420thought:

Pest Control
Usually 10 minutes with the fly swatter gets rid of the buggers for the day(flys that is). Well this morning I chased those damned things for about an hour with my daughters butterfly net and only caught 5. Then got the bright idea to sit and catch them by the garbage can, but when the got too smart for that I sat and watched a pile of dog shit catching flys out side! This damned thing is not worth it, lol, I'm crazy. I figure I'll let the flys go in the grow room and put a jar or ground beef in there. Hopefully they lay some eggs and I get maggots before they escape or get eaten. Me and DD are going bug hunting outside this afternoon and we'll see what we get. I figure if we run out of food for him I'll just put him in the freezer till spring then thaw him out again because in the summer the bugs are so bad in there.

The first year I did this,I put them in at shore...The seagulls were pickin em out of the whitewater...I was so pissed, lol!!!Now I throw them off the jetty...:420thought:
