Shiva Shanti No Trichomes

Should i be worried. I have 4 Shiva Shanti plants grown indoors that are 6 weeks into flower but only 1 is covered in sticky trichomes. The seeds came from the same pack from Sensi Seeds and the plants are the same age. They have all been exposed to the same growing conditions.

Is there anything i can do to increase the trichomes in the other 3 plants?

Get yourself a magnifying glass..Can get a good one at radio shack for about 10-15 bucks... can't really see trichomes without one...Im sure that your plant looks alot better then you think...plus the fact that your plant is 6 weeks in "I" wouldn't give it anything else at this point...

I have all but given up on this strain, I have had the same problem with the lack of trichromes.

I did have one plant that did real well out of the pack of Shiva Shanti seeds. It did so well and nothing like the others I assumed that it was a different strain that was accidentally put into the pack. I call it "Not Shiva"

It seems you are both overlooking a basic tenent of growing from seed....there will be variations from plant to plant. These variations include, potency (trichome production), node spacing, rooting, taste, etc, etc.

The only way to get consistent growing and results is to grow cuttings/clones.

This is also why some of us go thru the time, effort and trouble to find a suitable mother plant. I start 20 seeds if they are regular, 10 seeds if femmed and grow out these plants, plus take cuttings, not just to sex the plant early (for reg seeds) but to see how well they root. Keeping notes about everything the plant does (and keeping everything IDed) and when the original plants are done, harvested, dried and cured select the best tasteing and most potent plant from the group. The clones of this plant become the mother's of all mothers.

Just because the seeds come from a reputable vendor, popping just a few seeds does not insure you are seeing the best traits from that strain.

yes sir, even those seeds were bred out by the hundreds and then more to insure stability in the desired traits. im curious to know why a ghani hybrid from an old breeder cant produce noticable trichs. now for the record some trichs are real fine and some are bulbuous. by the way anyone every have a goo ball about an 1/8" across, craaaaazzzy! anyway back on track...so i did some looking and found there is another shiva shanti called shiva shanti 11. it being a four way cross, and to their own admission quite unstable. they also mentioned that finding a mum will reward one well.

thats some genetic damage with no trichs, thats what it naturally secretes to protect the bud/seeds from damage from insects and the elements. save the children sort of speak. im guessing that the trichs are just very fine and make the bud look all white or a light green. let them sit in 50 degrees every night for two weeks and see what colors you get.
