2008 Outdoors Grow Strawberry Cough X Diesel
Just thought I'd share... harvest time is slowly approaching and my anticipation builds... hope you're all enjoying the same prospects!
Enjoy the pics, feel free to comment if you wish (don't rag on my poor camo on the buckets, that's getting fixed next visit, need more camo duct tape, incredible by the way, when my buckets are fully covered my plants will legitimately blend into their background 99%).
Strains are Strawberry Cough X Diesel and another unknown strain from seeds given to me by a friend growing in cali and is I believe a west coast strain, the name I'll have to get when I talk to him again.
The two strains are fairly easy to distinguish now that the plants are flowering, with the Strawberry Cough X Diesel having a very fruity aroma, almost like fruity loops, good thing because I mixed up the seeds before I planted... oooops, but who doesn't like surprises :-) )
They are finally starting to get heavy with the weight of their buds, with the furthest along being a good 3 to 4 weeks into flowering max and the least mature, and also notably the largest of the 7 have been flowering for at most around 2 weeks now. Its looking like it'll be a nice harvest in a month, I look forward to sharing a follow up report on the quality of the smoke with you. This being a grow to provide soley for myself for the year I will be curing the buds throughout the duration of my smoking them and can expect by the time I'm out I'll be smoking some connoisseurs 6 month cured chron.
Happy Harvesting.
Daytime Picture is the SCxD 5 days ago during the day. The rest are shots just taken this evening of each of the plants at their current stage, each shot being a different plant. The rest of the pics...
And also for those of you who are curious the plants were planted in early July and are in a varying array of 3 different organic potting soils that I had chosen as an experiment. The buckets are actually dug slightly into the ground and the bottoms of the buckets were drilled to a mesh state allowing the roots to grow from the buckets and into the ground. This was done a couple weeks prior to flowering to ensure the plants would not become rootbound and would have access to nutrients/water present in the ground in addition to the potting soil, as well as maximum drainage capabilities in the event of needing to flush or prevent overwatering prior to finishing. I have nuted only once about a week ago with miracle grow bloom boost, the plants showed minimal burn, 1/16th of an inch on many, but I'm planning to switch to an organic fertilizer next visit. I expect to fert once a week through the end of flowering allowing. I think I covered most questions that could be asked so I hope you enjoy the pics. Thanks for looking/reading if you have.
