Might as well ban the Bible, since it's filled with stories of sex, incest, prostitution, masturbation, whores, rape, adultery and murder, forbidden intimacies with animals, homosexuality, orgies, King David the flasher, abortion, phallic worship, sex drugs, venerial disease, indecent exposure, drunkenness, a fertility contest, self-castration, and other colorful topics.

Yes, Figment, you missed the sarcasm that Midnight picked up on. I was just joking about banning poor Little Red Riding Hood or moving it to the adult section. I am not for banning any books at all. I do not condone any form of censorship. I think that if a person or group disgrees with the ideas of a book or other form of art, they should make thier own argument and let people decide for themselves, but don't try to ban the idea.

However, even though I was joking about banning Little Red Riding Hood, I wasn't completely joking about the metaphor of the story. I was stretching it a bit with the clitoral hood imagery (that was a joke), but I do think the story is a cautionary tale about little girls being wary of men who are out to get them. The underlying message is about sex, but it is so buried that the story is appropriate for kids. In fact, it's valuable becasue kids get the idea of being wary of strangers without having to expalin that someone might want to rape them --- leave it at the idea the "wolf" might want to "eat" them, without getting into the real life nightmares that kids might really face at the hands of a stranger.

seems she also clearly abuses her position to get her way,and to further her family up the ranks in society I believe the McCain camp made a grave mistake with her. whats she gonna do him if he doesn't do as she says, she has shown she will get her way no matter what! not the kind of person we need in office. screw this I'm voting for Bush again!
