TOPPING AND BENDING?
O.K. I am still a rookie as far as plant manipulating techniques. I know how to grow a nice plant, but I haven't a clue as to getting monster colas off my plants. This would be a good thread for noobs and myself to learn about bending and topping plants. So anyone and please only if you have had plenty of experience, please share your knowledge with the rest of us through this thread if you can. It is well appreciated! Thanks!

Some people chop their top and grow there side branches as main colas...
Some people bend the top down(this saves height, and makes other branches compete to be main colas IMHO)
I once tried to bend a StrawberryCough's main cola and snapped the stem...While she was repairing herself, her side branches grew the most enormous buds and even bigger tips...
Ah loves the plants to much to snap em tho!!!Each and every one I ever grew or will grow is an old friend by harvest time...:420thought:

Thanks for response peeps! So my question now is what does "LST" stand for? And also when is the right time to "TOP" your plant and how often can I do it?

low stress training.
The pictures above are a great example of how to keep your plants short and bushy so you are less limited by a small space or flourescent lighting.
I highly recommend pinching the growing tip after the 5th node, and then wating at least 2 weeks before flower, if you are growing a small number of plants.

TOPPING AND BENDING?
DT,
The pic of the mini xmas tree lot was grown from seed, it was suppose to be GDP but I think it was something else... but the guy I got the beans from still thinks there GDP, he has some in dirt outside now, so I'll have to check them out when they get heavier to see the difference in the buds.

TOPPING AND BENDING?
Hi, I am wondering if makes any sense to LST a diesel rider which is an autoflowering strain under a 400W HPS? Would it increase the yeld?
Also I would like to know if makes any sense to LST other non autoflowering strains (arjans haze#3 and white rhino) during flowering after a 3 weeks vegging.
They are kind of small now for LST but I am wondering if LST them after 1 or 2 more weeks of flowering will increase the yeld?
Thank you in advance

Do not LST a plant that is already in flower, that will freak it out. Yes, if you do it within the first few weeks it won't freak out AS much but it will still tweak.
If you're already flowering, try again in your next grow at the right time, read stinky's post.
As far as yield increases, why don't you experiment and find out. There are so many different ways that one can increase the yield of their plant.
