new gardener, just need some advice !!
how tall is the the plant and what size pot is it in now? You basically have 2 options, either put it in a pot twice as big as now or leave it in its current pot and cut off the bottom branches. This will slow down the root growth and instead focus it on the top of the plant.
I have a 5wk old clone that I just put into flower last week that is in a clear 16oz cup. Its about 2 ft tall. I've been cutting off most of the bottom branches so i grow i big ass cola :-D Its amazing that its been so healthy all this time in such a small container. I see a lot of roots, but its not root bound yet.
