Do you suppose that if we had a real leader at the time as opposed to him, that despite the fact we may have gotten involved in a conflict, it may have prevented 9/11, the Iraq War, the War in Afghanistan?
This is all hypothetical of course. Just something to ponder.
What would happen if Obama were president?
Diplomacy for 4 years? Maybe 8?
Then what?
Another conflict, maybe really brutal, long, drawn out conflict? Maybe something that would make what is going on now look like a boy scout camp out. This time maybe with Iran, or N. Korea, or Venezuela, or China, or All of Them at the same time?
I bet they would all love nothing more than 8 years of American diplomacy, plenty of time to figure out a new wonderful way to destroy us.
Just a thought.
Bush was president for almost 9 months before 9/11 and he sure dropped the ball.

Tenet and his loyalists also settle a few scores with the White House here. The book's opening anecdote tells of an unnamed CIA briefer who flew to Bush's Texas ranch during the scary summer of 2001, amid a flurry of reports of a pending al-Qaeda attack, to call the president's attention personally to the now-famous Aug. 6, 2001, memo titled "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US." Bush reportedly heard the briefer out and replied: "All right. You've covered your ass, now."

McCain and Palin Surge Into the Lead The USAToday/Gallup poll shows McCain ahead 54 percent to 44 percent among likely voters and 50 percent to 46 percent among registered voters. This poll arbitrarily excludes a certain percentage of LVs from the category of RVs depending on their response to a series of questions. In practice, its LV results have been far more volatile than other polls. But for that reason, it is one of the better measures we have for voter enthusiasm and therefore, perhaps, for turnout.
