butter wisdom plse

Helloooo all just made my first batch of butter..OMG its beautiful green. I was hoping that someone could explain the different views regarding duration the butter,cannabis,h2o is simmered. I read thread 22 to 24 hrs via crockpot and then read elsewhere one hour stove top was good enough..any ideas. By the way I did stove top 2 to 3 hrs, thoughts please:stoned:

I crockpot my cannabutter ... used to do it for 12-24 hours, then I discovered it is complete after only a couple hours ... I was just wasting time and electricity ... enjoy :jointsmile:

babyg: how did the stovetop come out?

I read about the few hours of crockpot and bought one last week! Thanks for all the great info guys! P/R

stovetop in a pot, 2-3 hours, little over half pound butter, 18g vaped buds, 1g mids, 0.4g of keef, 1 cup water...everything between 2-4 on stove dial to simmer. Strained through regular paper coffee filter, refrigerated, got about half full tub(used empty Smart Balance) of cannabutter but some dark liquid gathered at the bottom, emptied dark liquid. Made Betty Crocker Hershey& peanut butter brownies with the cannabutter, 2 small dark liquid holes in brownies but after dumping it out carefully & baked at 100 degrrees lower than directions & they came out great...3 brownies got me high for remainder of the night! I also just made my first batch of edibles. I took a couple fistfuls of trim and threw it in a pot with olive oil cooked it on low for an hour, then strained it and cooked my tofu with the olive oil. I used to way to much and both my wife and myself got extremely fucked up to the point where neither of us were enjoying it. I am not exaggerating at all when I tell you it was comparable to eating good acid. I could not move off the couch for awhile.

I find that 4 hours is good in a crock pot with some h2o to eveporate, any longer and it does not realy help a double boiler or a low setting on the crock pot is needed. other than that just gind the herb fine, if you have hash it is way better and you realy only need to cook it for about 1 or 2 hours with hash.
