nice one reb, it's great that you are going to be doing something you feel strongly about, i personally hate politics as it's mainly just bullshit and corruption, well in the uk it definately is, but if we had people like you who actually cares about people my opinion may change, once again reb well done and enjoy.

congrats, I know that being accepted into a club with like-minded people can be a great thing, especially during your beginning weeks in a new school.

oh btw, sorry about my deleted post, and again congratulations.

Why yes I am at WCCC

    Maybe I'll see you around.

Thanks for all the nice words.

Maybe I can help change what the word "Republican" means to people today. Maybe I'll be able to make people see that Republicans should go back to their Libertarian roots.

Kudos to you! Good for you. Getting involved and trying to work from within the system is great! Don't loose touch with your beliefs, and don't get discouraged by some of the others that would rather you not be there. The republican party is a big tent, lots of room for many different p.o.v.

IF you want to debate politics there is a forum just for that. This thread isn't about that at all; it's about somebody that has been accepted into a club at college.

If you want to waste your time posting about McCain, Obama, Ron Paul, etc...go for it, it takes my less than 2 sec. to delete.

    Have a good one!

Way to go on your club membership! Have fun with it.

The Republican party is not a big enough tent for me, however, as there is not lots of room for many different p.o.v.

But involvement in one party is better then no involvement at all, I definitely believe that.

Well remember, Ron Paul ran as a Republican (That's the kind of Republican I am). Hopefully I can help trade those old views in for some Libertarian ones!

Good for you! That's the kind of Republican I am as well. (Well, I take that back, that's the kind of Republican I was. I switched my party membership after seeing the way the GOP treated Ron Paul. The two major parties have succeeded in making it illegal (impossible is technically the word, I guess) to register as a Libertarian in my state (NC), so I'm now officially an "unaffiliated" voter.

Good luck on changing some of the current views. You'll need it. Sadly, it seems to me the trend in the party lately has been away from the true conservativism and more towards big gov and the sacrifice of individual liberty. But if anyone is going to go in there and try to reverse those trends in the Grand Old Party, I'll support her all the way.

Thanks for the support then haha.

I'm on a one woman plan to make things like they should be haha.

Hahaha maybe I should switch my major and go into the political field. I always wanted too, even if it's just part of my small local government (you have to start somewhere). That would be my dream.

A lot of people get involved in politics that don't have the stereotypical political science major. I'm not sure what your major is, but I don't know that you necessarily would need to change it to go into the political field. The most important thing would be to network and get involved (things like the club!).

You could always pursue a law degree also, and that is something that doesn't require any particular major. I've got a Computer Science major, and I think that actually helped me get into law school because it set me apart from everyone else that had the history or political science backgrounds.
