moving to no cal, residencey question

i am moving to no cal most likely humbolt county, marin, somewhere around the bay or lake tahoe, dont know yet but i have 6 herniated disks and chronic back pain because last summer i got run over by a hummer(i got a small settlement, and am using it to move west) and wanted to know when i move, do i have to wait one year to establish residency or can i just get a DL for cali and then walk into a dr. i have lists of over a dozen dr.s but i dont want to wait one year. i know school tuition is one year over there, can someone explain if this is the same for medical bud, i have a valid documented reason, just dont want to wait to establish residency can i just move and show up with a utility bill at the drs?

no you can't, you will need a state issued ID or DL from cali and your prior medical records at the MMJ docotr offce.
its still easy and only takes like 30 days to get cali ID,bring medical records from current doctr with you

wow thanks for the quick reply i only posted like 5 mins ago, so basically what you are saying is after i move there 30 days later i can get my drivers license and then i take my records to a medical marijuana specialist and hopefully it all works out.???

my question is basically since the law states you must be a california resident, how quickly can you prove residency and will it apply

go apply for your cali DL as soon as you get here takes a few weeks to get it.
all that is required at the MMJ doctor is state issued ID card or DL and your prior medical records, no problems no worries m8t

I suggest calling the DMV offices in California and ask them how you can establish your new residency when you move out here. Getting a California ID/Driver's License is pretty quick. Once you have your California ID, plus your medical records, bring it to a MMJ doctor here, and you should be set.

With all your back/spine issues I'd strongly reconsider and avoid moving to the Tahoe area......snow.....mountains.......a bad back will NOT be your best friend in that kind of geography.

California residency kicks in the first day you work at a job, at least ... the California Highway Patrol harassed me for a long time, because they suspected I was driving to-and-from work while still running my IL license plates (yeah, guilty :wtf ... I did a lot of research, looking for a loophole ... no luck, first day of employment, "welcome to California - pay here" :wtf: ...

Bring copys from your doctor describing what symptoms you are expeirencing and make a appt to meet with a MMJ Dr. Explain how and why you think MMJ will be a benifit to you. Go to the DMV get a Id or take the drivers test and get a CaDl..Good luck..
