A bit off topic, but Republican related- do you know about these guys?-
compassionaterepublicans.com
I'm a Democrat but they were very nice to me (they didn't put me on their emailing list or hit me up for a donation) when I sent them my list. It wasn't totally altruistic of me- I believe they may be a positive, but possibly divisive, factor in the Republican Party.

Awsome link Storm!
See not all Republicans are like Bush and all those other religious loons. REAL Republicans are Libertarians. And that means small government, which means the government minds it's own damn business and stays out of private affairs (like Marijuana for example).
I wish that people stopped making generalizations about "Republicans". Most Republicans I know are NOT religious in any way, are for gay marriage and are for a woman's right to do whatever she wants to with her body. Really only a small percentage of Republicans are the Bush/Cheney crowd.
Most are really Libertarians but choose to register as Republicans so they can vote in their state's primaries (they choose Republican because Republicans often run on similar Libertarian platforms, at least more than the Democrats). Most Republicans I know can't stand how their party is now. They want to start over and make it more Libertarian again, lke it is supposed to be.

It's a shame because if people actually looked at the things I said it would be obvious that I just want the government to mind their own business and stay out of our affairs. I don't want the government telling me what I can and can't do. I want them to provide me some basic public services, a military and maintain international relations as well as promote the free market. Aside from that just general criminal laws at the state level. I want more power to the states and less power to the federal level.
but everyone wants to label me a right wing religious zealot (yeah.. someone called me that once and I'm Agnostic.. hilarious).
Take it easy Reb :hippy:

I thought you would.

Things would be so much better if we all just concentrated on common goals, rather than focus on our differences.

As I have said before, (jmo), not all republicans are conservative, not all conservatives are in bed with the religious right, most all the religious right are republicans though. See the problem. It is almost a requirement to pander to the religious right to get anywhere in politics as a conservative, or libertarian. Libertarianism and true conservatism are very very closely intertwined I believe. So many speak highly of libertarians here, I need to dedicate some time to more closely study this.
(I have nothing against religion at all. This is just an observation that I have made.)
