In the USA, whats a good way of buying co2? How do you apply it to your grow?

I know its probably wierd im asking, But I am not familiar with this, at all. Im somewhat new to co2 and I would appreciate anyone with knowhow to give me the pros, cons and dangers of using this, (if any). And where I can purchase or attain co2. Thank you.

I don't have the set up 4 serious co2...I grow in a closet with an intake and an outtake but my system is not air cooled...I rely on the AC or outdoor temps and lottsa fans to keep temp...I open the closet at "lights" on and close and cover it during "lights off"...

These are the worst possible conditions for co2 enhancement...A tight growroom, closet, cabinet, etc.,that shuts down intake and outtake until desired co2 level is reached while keeping temp is best...

I have however used the disposable "CO2BOOST" that comes in a 1 gallon plastic pail,he he...Not bad,not bad at all...You can stick the tube in a fan a blow an unknown amount of co2 on your plants...I used it on my Opium,(some of you guys looked in on those pics(THNX)),and also a WW and WR,grows that went pretty damn good,(wish I could show ya the WW andWR,I didn't own a digital camera until flowering of the Opium)...
Did it improve my grow???Pee Wee Herman's voice-"I DON'T KNOW!!!
It didn't seem to hurt it,lol...
The company says that when the bucket is beat, you can use the mushroom based compost inside as a soil additive...I always meant to try it as a tea additive, but never got around to it...

I didn't use CO2Boost for my last grow,(GWS),and I'm not using it on my present grow,(DP OrangeBud)...

Must be nice to have a system that pumps out the proper PPM's of CO2's in a controlled environment...

Sorry 2 ramble, nice talkin' to ya FLGuerilla, and BIG grows to ya!!!:420thought:

The CO2 Boost buckets can be ordered from a grow shop. They smell foul and IMHO are more expensive than they are worth- sure, startup cost is lower than a tank, but refills will git ya! However, it is 100% safe and can NOT fail in a way that will hurt the humans or plants in your home lol.

I think I paid about $200 total for my entire CO2 injection system- the Hydrofarm regulator comes with timer and tubing too, and then the tank was like $70 with the first fill. If anyone asks, tell the welding supply shop where you buy and fill tanks that it is for the soda gun on your sister's weiner cart.

The last option is a CO2 propane burner that runs on BBQ tanks. I have no experience and therefore no opinion on their function, but a burner may add heat and I try to avoid that in my grow.

if you want a real easy, and practically free way to get CO2 to your plants, check out the CO2 dispensing bottle i rigged up for my grow here. i reccommend usign the Mk. II version that implements absorbant fabric in the hole since it's more consistent, but that's just my recommendation...

just be aware that if u r gonna buy commercial CO2 capsules (similar to ones used in restaurants) from your local hardware/wholesale store, they will ask for id and record all information, i think due to a federal law

and if u frequent the place for CO2 without owning a business or doing something legal that requires that much CO2, u will most likely get flagged and reported

I know of at least one Hydro Shop that does CO2 refills. You pay a few $$$ more, but well worth it for extra security.

any homebrew shop or ice maker (dry ice) does refills. You don't need a permit.
