I think the attitudes toward addiction in this post are pretty sickening. Addiction can happen to anyone. If no one had "wanted to save" certain members of my family, they wouldn't be alive today. Everyone makes mistakes, and drug addiction can be caused by or be a sign of mental illness. It's not cut and dry, no one ingests substances thinking "oh man sweet sweet dependence, oh yeaaaah".


Should we not help anyone who harms themselves by doing something with inherent risk? Guess race car drivers should just be left to die when they crash and burn.
