Bay Area?

Thanks for the BART map, helps direct my search. Ideally I would be somewhere pretty close in like Oakland, but I don't know the neighborhoods at all, like what areas would I want to avoid because of crime, West Oakland, East Oakland etc.?

Hello, I am an east-coaster looking to move to the Bay Area after I graduate college at the end of this year. I realize the entire area is expensive, but does anyone have recommendations about areas that are:

1. Good for young people
2. Not outrageously expensive (not downtown SF)
3. Communting distance from SF, like under an hour commute.

I thought of something that should help you, I've used it to scout possible moves: Google 'Sperling's Best Places' ... I think it originated as a realtor's tool, gives you all the accurate details of towns, cities, and/or counties you direct it to ... I think you'll like it :thumbsup:
