Advice on new system please??
I have been growin with dwc for awhile, and want to start a scrog. Not able to to scrog with dwc as res access is now impossible. My choices are a soda bottle top feed drip system or a nft using pvc, but I have had a problem finding 6 inch pipe and 4 is just too small. I have also considered flood and drain, but want to avoid this as humidity would be an issue. Has anyone made a top feed drip setup using inverted soda bottles plumbed into pvc waste pipe? Or, something similar? I plan on using hydroton. I saw the soda bottle thing in a book and it seemed easy to make you drill out the pipe and glue on a bottle cap, screw in the bottle and fill with hydroton. Drill a hole in the cap and there's your drainage. Any ideas??

ebb and flow would be my advice. humidity really isn't a problem for me. it WAS but i bought a lid for my res and drilled a hole for the overflow tubing. now its light proof and nearly humidity proof. best of luck

If you use a say 4' by 4' tray, and use ordinary garden pots and fill them with Hydroton (clay pellets), you will be able to move plants at your whim without any problems. Then all you need is a pump and run 1/4" hoses to them to feed. They don't even need a nozzle or anything, just let it run into each pot making sure there's lots of drainage holes for the nutes to escape. The plants love it.
