I suppose know what a person is like outside of a campaign is not important?

Everything else that everyone says is negative I view as being information that should be investigated.

Obama hasn't had to run a negative campaign because the media has been doing all the negative attacks on their own. Must be nice to have an attack dog on your side (Obama).

Well a person can say whatever they want. Look at his time in the senate instead. Has Obama even attempted to do much of what he's saying? Does he have a history to suggest that he's a person that's open to listening (he's voted alongside party majority leaders 100% of the time). To me that doesn't sound like he's listening to anything except what his party has to say.

I don't know. Obviously you're free to vote for who you choose but Obama seems to be the exact opposite of what he claims he is or what he's going to do.

McCain is not really who I want either; but at least I have some history to go on and some of that history I do agree with.
I agree with you. I don't think the media has been very fair to McCain. However, McCain's campaigning style hurt him some along with the media's love affair for Obama. The RNC used the same playbook as the 2000 and 2004 campaign to heavily attacks opponents on character weaknesses rather than highlight the positives of what he can accomplish.

As far as Obama's associations, if there was any clear motive of malice or espionage, they wouldn't let him serve on the committee of homeland security and governmental affairs, they couldn't grant him the required clearance to serve on many of the committees he served. These associations should be considered, but I don't think they are substanciated enough. Much of it is a few facts that are heavily theorized to show Obama's views are Anti-American. Until I see something factual, like Obama partaking in a marxist gathering or there was fact that Obama was engaging in treasonous crimes, I simply can't put much weight on these associations.

As far as Obama's willingness to listen, in the sense of his voting record, McCain is more proven to cross party lines while Obama record shown he's not. Obama clearly talks more than walks. However the fundamental aspect is usage of diplomacy. Obama's willingness to open diplomatic channels will earn more respect with the world and will help America better understand the conflicts we are getting into. McCain views diplomacy as a concession rather than necessary. In addition, McCain is a guy who wants less oversight and accountability when it comes to government affairs. This isn't to say Obama isn't transparent because I think he has an agenda as well, but McCain's is clear. The military-industrial complex needs to be reduced and McCain's policy will continue to increase spending to defense when we have bigger fish to fry.

I don't think Obama will follow through on many of his promises and that he'll be ultra liberal. I think Obama's policies will impend the ability of corporations to grow and he will not reduce government spending. I'm just hoping republicans take some seats in both the house and senate to balance it out. It's due to the sensitivity of an impending financial crisis which will require America to cooperate and engage the world, we need someone who's willing to take this role, and that'll be Obama. If I had to choose between these two devils, I'll choose Barack Obama.
