damn 10 mins passed and my edit went down the drain
EDIT to above post: I dont mean to meddle with your personal debate with reaper
but if any1 wants me to give a case of why i agree with above statements, i have a few points to make...
for now, a country of 300 million people who is the best place to be on this planet according to many people, MUST BE ASHAMED that we have only 25% of our population with higher education (college opens your eyes to many things, if ur mind has the ability to grow) and should not expect a better public view on anything when people have no interest in educating themselves
even many of our college students/grads go there merely for getting the degree and thus the job... they fail to actually analyze our history and our government books and courses! they just wanna get over with it
i feel bad when i see everyone is in a rush to leave the classes 10 mins b4 they are officially over... leave for what... to catch ya girls or homies on cell phone or to go to a crappy low pay job?? almost no1 takes interest in what they learn more than getting the grade, hardly people open up to different ideas than theirs
no1 uses their brain anymore in this land.. no offense, i mean compared to general population few people have unbiased mental analytical ability (fair judgement, side taking) we are fed with our family's and local society's agendas from day1
just wondering: how many of u actually have gone out and researched and found YOURSELF the religion or opinions/values u hold dearly, compared to those of u who basically have inherited it from family!?
i knew it, almost everyone's opinions are formed due to familys opinions in first place and society's beliefs in 2nd, most people dont even know why they are baptist or catholic, other than being born to a domination area of either sect in the country
tradition is tradition, some parts of it are older than times and must be changed or be gone 4 good! Extremist muslims say its their tradition to cut one's hand for theft as penalty and it is their tradition, their tradition says to stone adulterers... so merely following traditions is not always a good choice, u hold your tradition dear, they hold theirs!
most of us fail to think independently, we fail to analyze things for ourselves, we just suffice to what we are fed with as long as it matches our background values... and if doesnt, well thats the shit we have between the left and right in this country, both do stupid things and keep blaiming each other
we fail to notice the corruption and wrongdoings of our administartions of all sides, right or left, we fail to notice all the coup-de-tats we initiated and participated in, cuz we think supporting uncle sam uncontionally is the only way to be a patriot. but to me being a patriot is making decisions that will give us long-lasting safety, not just bullying around with old enemies or short lived allies and paranoia of some attack all the time! that aint patriotic.
patriot is some1 who invests more in education than in military, patriot is the one who makes attracting tax system so businesses dont run away abroad!
a patriot is the one who holds the constitution and our rights beloved as much as they like their bibles!
a patriot is the one who got the ballz to stand up to the government and president when do wrong
a patriot is the one who doesnt support our troops to go in and get killed in a war no1 really knows what its about anymore, half lies, half security, half oil, wtf?!
a patriot is the one who notices that 2 sided politics that we have is the only democracy looking as awkward as ours where non right or left get 0 attention and thus does something to change this
patriot is the one who finds a way to stop us from borrowing money, going on the path to financial suicide sometime in future, the one who does something about our social security that everyone admits is going to fail in future!
but it seems our politicians are most interested in their career and vote numbers and our people sadly either dont care about any of it or only care about whats important for them!
we are not guaranteed to be the only super power forever, look we had to deal with china and they are pretty much a communist state as strong as us in means of military.. we got missiles they got missiles, we got nukes they got nukes... so u see THE BIG STICK time is over... too many parties have big sticks, maybe not as big as ours but big enough to be scary even for us these days, and not all of them are allied with us
patriot is the one who makes a decision and comes up with an opinion that will solve our freakin law breaking wars over for good
our last declared war was WWII, how many military conflicts have we been to since then? laws broken? congress failing iuts duties? or they just simply change the law to t
its funny how many times we use double-standards for many things from wars to drugs to countries to interpreting the constitution

So far it is a landslide for Obama, which is what I predict in November as well. Probably not by the same margin as in this poll, but by a decisive margin.
The Republicans have done nearly as much damage to their own party as they have done to the country and world at large.
Now and then there is a politcal, cultural or economic event that shifts the balance of power for decades. The Great Depression shifted power to the Democrats, and it lasted for a very long time. The cultural turmoil of the Sixties shifted power to the Republicans and it has lasted for a long time too.
I think maybe the discontent of the last eight years, with the war, with ignoring important issues like global climate change, with decling wages and other economic issues, with a overblown debt and deficit --- I think maybe this decade is going to be one that Democrats will use to punish Republicans for years to come. Republicans held control of all branches of government for most of this time and they drove the country into a ditch. They cut their own throats with their incompetence. They are done.

I honestly wished we had a more diverse party system enforced by legislation.

You are absolutely correct that we won't know for some time, maybe not even until election day. But I have a feeliong it is going for the Democrats in a big way this year.

I'm happy to vote McCain/Palin.
If it wasn't for her being Religious I would be 100% behind her.
Anything is better than Obama/Biden.
Finally, a Female Republican (or politician in general) that doesn't have jowls.
