I had to say, I was looking forward to this speech because I knew it would have to be one of the best of his career. It really was. Regardless of whether you like his policies, you have to admit it would be nice to have a president who can be this inspirational for a change.

Considering the audience he was speaking to, he did a good job.
I wonder what exactly he has inspired anyone to do?
He inspired me to vote for McCain.
He inspired 80k people to clap and cheer, and repeat bumper sticker slogans, such as "8 is enough".
Lots of people can give inspirational speeches, that is hardly a qualification to be president of the U.S.
Just ask his vp, or Hillary Clinton, or Bill Clinton for that matter.
(If you could have asked them 6 days ago anyway!)
I saw a trainer at Sea World that could do the same thing with sea lions. The sea lions just can't repeat catchy slogans that rhyme. It's not there fault though.
45 years from now I doubt that you will be able to look back on his speech tonight and say anything more than "oh, that was the first black presidential candidate."
Comparing this speech to MLK's "I Have a Dream" is horrific and an insult. His speech tonight will not have 1/100000000 the impact on Americans as did MLK's. JMHO.

:jointsmile:I think the content was there. Delivery??
I believe the delivery was lacking and had me nod off for a bit! His normal enthusiam and energy seemed lacking. I would have liked to have seen some bumping and grinding and some hip hop'rs join on the stage in the end and a real blast, from the candidates (families) and the stadium! I needed the enthusiam to come thru my TV. It did not move me! And I did not medicate either!
I needed to see his enthusiam to get it myself. Dancing on stage, whatever it takes, unable to stop smiling!
Will watch RNC next week. I fig. Mic R. will be run for V.P. and if that happens or Huckaby: well, I liked them and most of their policy thinking, except women's rights! I realize that is not a man issue, but when men drop the 'good ole boys club' maybe women will not be second class citizen's in this nation, anymore! It makes no diff. if Pres is female or male--it takes ERA action and Roe vs. Wade re-instatement!
He did not seem as comfortable on stage at times!

Mile high, inch deep.....thats Nobama
Im just glad the dems are gone...
Take his voting record, and look at south chicago..His Ideas DONT work.
Why didnt he bring up his Black Liberation Theology? He has been studing it for 20 years now.
Great speech.....Im glad he is good at that.
Didnt it kinda remind you of Blind fallowing of Hitler at Neuremburg?

more Hitler references, from scared republicans...lol
I thought his speech was content filled. So what if he did not say "New" things that have not been said on the campaign trail. Its a long trail, he has said a lot.
I understand that giving a great speech is not a qualification for being a president, but is being a bumbling, speaking disabled, reader of other peoples speeches a disqualification?
I am sure excited to see McCain get up there at the RNC in his monotone and inspire nobody.
Here's to hoping his speech does not have the impact that MLK's speech had. I sure don't want too many racist redneck's to be gunning for the next president!
