    Safety question!

First off, Pedro's gone HPS! Got one of those kits off Ebay:

150 watt HPS kit, $129.00 and change shipped, the only thing missing is the timer!

1- is 150 watts enough for a wardrobe 22 3/4" X 19.1/2" (with an estimated 45" clearance for vertical growth)?

2-heat issues - would that HPS generate more heat than my current 170 watt CFL setup, or would it be less since there's only the one bulb involved (and 20 watts less)? The temperatures are close to the 90F range as it is!

3 Timers...what should I be looking for? The local hardware store has heavy duty grounded timers for about $15.00, 'ideal for air conditioners, lamps and appliances'; would one of those do?

    Safety question!

To try and answer your question's I would need more info .......how many plants are going to be growing? what strain are they? Have you checked out different methods of training.....SCROG, SOG, LST, Topping, fimming? Why are your temps in the 90's? Poor venting? MJ likes to stay 70 and 75 for optimal results. I'm no expert but I've read a lot of great info on this site........You should do the same.

I used to use CFL's and my temps got to about 81.....I switched to a single 150hps (for one plant).....after switch temps now stay at 75. I use a heavy duty timer from Home Depot and haven't had any issues.

    Good luck....

I made the mistake of not using a heavy duty three pronged timers. Nearly burnt my house down. NEVER AGAIN... it pays to just pay extra and get what is needed! I picked up an outdoor heavy duty timer from wal mart for $20. you can plug up to six things into it! and it has a splash cover!

something like this but with six plugs!
