It's definitely bad for you, whether you notice or not. Which you're probably not going to, so I guess if you don't care that's cool too.

But yeah, you can light with a wood burner... like from a craft store. They light bud really well, and they're great for use in special pieces because they create less ash. Less mess in nice pieces, or like bubblers which can be a pain to clean.

The other problem with lighters is they are a huge waste of plastic. They contribute heavily to the plastic found all over the world where it's not supposed to be. Check out Strange Days on Planet Earth, the documentary with Ed Norton if you want more on that.

Matches are great, but they can add an undesirable taste, depending on the match, age, and make sure all the igniter has burned off before inhaling.

So you just get the tip of the wood burner/etcher thingy hot, and touch it to the bud and smoke.
