hi guys and gals. ihave been growing for just over a year now and im starting to get close to the results i was looking for. since i started i was using 2 110watt flourecent tube lights for vegatative growth and then a 600watt hps for flowering. recently i have bought a 400watt mh light for my veg so i would like to know if it would be ok to use the flourecent tubes combined with my 600watt hps for flowering or would the two different light spectrums mess the plants up. i was thinking of using them to get more light to the lower branches.

    what do you guys/gals think:rastasmoke:

Yeah, you could that. I think some CFL would be easier to place though instead of tubes. I use tubes and am think of switching to CFL (my yields were better and they don't take up as much room).

Plants actually do benefit from a bit of blue in the flower room- what you may notice if it is strong enough is that the node length during stretch does not go crazy like you will often see under pure HPS; basically, your plants will stay shorter.
Also, vegging under a MH400, a HPS600 won't give you your FULL potential- you would benefit most from about 3x the light in the flower chamber as you had in the veg room, so supplemental lighting is even better!
Tube flouros along the sides of the area where the light is less intense are a good way to arrange this.
Also, keeping a flouro backup light in the bloom room lets you keep photoperiod while killing the HIDs in times of high heat or after a particularly strong hormone application (the instructions on Gravity and others require decreased light intensity after application).
