Mollassas vs No Mollassas and other ?'s

Has anyone here done a test between using mollassas vs. not using mollassas? (Growing in soil) I have seen pictures in a book comparing and it shows 25% larger buds using mollassas.

If you did, what doses do you recommend?
Has anyone used it and had any problems?
Do you keep giving the mollassas up to the last flush?

If you found no difference, what Nutes would you recommend to use during late flower? (last four weeks)

Is it true that Nitrogen should be discontinued the last two weeks before projected harvest? (just read that it should be)

    Thanks for your help.

I am going into the last four weeks of flower. By the end of that time my outdoor night temps will start dropping drasticly from now (by ten degrees at least, 58 now 48 then). I really want to do all the correct things this year. Am considering using the mollassas for the "bigger" bud i have heard about. Any other recomendations would be greatly appreciated. You can see my journal here if you like.

Just recomending a thread for me would be great.
    thanks again

Nitrogen should be STRONGLY decreased at the start of flower, down to 50% or less the number from veg, and after the stretch period, if you are still using quite a bit, get it down even LOWER. N makes leafy green growth, when you want flowers instead!

2 weeks before harvest, you should actually not be using much in the way of ferts at all, since that is your flush time. Molasses is fine though- you can use it until the end. All you need is about a tablespoon per gallon of water. Too much CAN cause problems, since there are other nutrients in it, so go nice and easy. A little goes a long way.

Along with your sugar supplement, if you want to get fancy, you can use a carb synthesizer like Sweet or TopMax at a low dosage to help the plant USE the sugars. Also, remember to use your bloom fert products, which will give the plant all the P, K and micros it needs to make sugars and resins, and stay healthy.

Thank you, the ferts i am using now are the fox farms Cha Ching and Open Sesame, the nitrogen numbers on them are 9 and 5 respectively. I did start using that Purple Max you recomended ...testing it out on two of my plants. Am hoping it does what it says in helping the plant to draw up the nutes. Next year i am gonna try hard water nutes. I also have some of Dr. Hornbys Big bud that has no nitrogen at all in it and i will be giving that the last feeding. I dont think i have to worry bout new green growth, i am loosing leaves to yellow quite a bit. Tho the leaves around the buds are staying nice and dark green.

    thanks again. :hippy:

It hAs to be unsulfured. Beyond that, yeah. Sometimes you can find bulk molasses at the farmers supply in the livestock feed section.

I found on my last grow that I was using too much molasses. I was giving the little ladies a 1/2 teaspoon a gallon every other day and it must of been clogging my roots. Now I water with straight water every other day and do nutes with molasses every friday. Seems to be working out a lot better.

I think, I might have had clogged roots, too. (the normally white roots were stained brown).. I added the same dosage every third watering. Next time, I will wait until the final 3 weeks of flowering. (instead of final 5 weeks)
