Something isn't right...
I'm going to move this to current events, where it makes a bit more sense in terms of the site rules.
My take on it is this: If the drinking age were to be lowered, I would hope that the SOLE reason would be to encourage parents to interact more with their children as tehy are learning to asses risks associated with alcohol consumption. Which, IMVHO, is pretty laughable- the DRVING age is 16 and we STILL see young people doing completely irresponsible things with vehicles that their parents could probably have sttered them away from, HAD THEY BEEN PAYING ATTENTION.
However, I feel this is not the real reason behind that, and, like you folks, I'm simply dumbstruck at teh hypocrisy evident here where it concerns various prohibitions.stinkyattic Reviewed by stinkyattic on . Something isn't right... If this is against the rules, I apologize. Not supposed to be about alcohol. I have been glancing at this story over the past few days: College presidents get drinking age debate - Life - MSNBC.com and it really makes me sick to my stomach. Not so much because of them wanting to lower the age... but the fact that, seemingly, at the drop of a hat they get a "discussion" about changing such a major law. While I applaud people for trying to rationalize a situation and find a logical Rating: 5
